The International Space Station flew over Sugar Land, TX tonight. It was really bright -- heavens-above.com estimated it would be -3.6 magnitude. The ISS went into the earth's shadow during the pass and so disappeared still high in the NE sky with a reddish orange glow. Jupiter is the bright object center right. Canon 7D, 10-22mm @ 10mm, f/6.3, ISO 640. Set of five 30-second images.

Here is one of my photos of Ryan Hall, Abdi Abdirahman, Dathan Ritzenhein (hidden), Mohamed Trafeh, and Meb Keflezighi early in the Olympic Marathon Trials in Houston this morning.

Desiree Davila, Shalane Flanagan, Kara Goucher, Deena Kastor (!), Amy Hastings, and a handful of others early in the Women's race. There were lots of people downtown watching -- a good turnout I thought -- many were probably out-of-towners running the Houston marathon (regular edition) tomorrow. The Olympic trials course today was a great course for spectators. It consisted of several loops -- and if you were on the right spot in the course, you had eight chances to see the athletes in each race.
